As a policy research intern for PAR, I assisted the senior policy staff by providing research for current projects, such as funding for Louisiana’s coastal restoration, Louisiana’s Coastal Master Plan, constitutional amendments, and Medicare expansion in Louisiana. I researched legislature’s information and compiled the data for use in PAR’s Guide to the 2016 Louisiana Legislature. I also created graphics for use in official reports and commentaries and on PAR’s social medial platforms, Facebook and Twitter.

Guide to the 2015 Constitutional Amendment |
This year, I created a graphic for constitutional amendment one. Amendment one stated that the budget stabilization fund (rainy day fund) would be restructured into the Budget and Transportation Trust which included the budget stabilization sub-fun and the transportation stabilization sub-fund, each with a maximum balance of $500 million.
The graphic was use to supplement the written summary and explanation for the amendment. As the readers of the guide are both experienced policy makers and an average Louisiana voting citizen, I had to create a graphic that clearly and simply explained the current system and the changes to any person who viewed it. 2015 Constitutional Amendments GraphicsFor each amendment, I had to research and understand the implications of the amendment in order to create an accurate and simply representation of the amendment. As the viewers of PAR’s Facebook page are similar to that of the guide, I had to create a graphic that clearly and simply explained the current system and the changes to any person who viewed it.
